Supporting Australia’s Environmental Defenders

Environmental Defenders Office (EDO) uses the law to protect Australia’s wildlife, people and places. EDO is an Australian law centre that encourages and enables litigation, law reform, and community engagement on environmental issues.

Customer Challenge
When EDO first engaged mcrIT the organisation was made up of eight separate state and territory organisations, each with their own IT backbone and only one IT resource was in place to support the team. With such disparate legacy infrastructure, downtime and internet connectivity issues were a common complaint.

The Project
EDO knew they required an experienced IT support team to implement their plans to merge into a national organisation with consolidated, resilient IT services.  mcrIT completed an IT health check for each site and recommended a plan to standardise the IT functions across all sites – including a centralised service desk and a move to Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.
